Amazing Review of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) by Venable Visions the Review Guru

Welcome to the best review of “Jumanji,” on the web.

“Jumanji,” is a name that is trending all over Twitter. It’s also a name that was popular way before Twitter even existed. The original “Jumanji,” was a movie starring Robin Williams that was released in 1995. The plot is basically the same, a group of people turn into video-game characters trapped inside of a game. The movie is also rated PG-13.

So how does “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017),” differentiate itself from its predecessor?

jumanji3_1

The key is in it’s cast of actors.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle,” has a blockbuster list of very talented and funny actors. None funnier than the critically acclaimed Kevin Hart. Kevin Hart (as Fridge the jock) adds a flavor to this movie that adults and kids can both enjoy. His lighthearted humor is easily digestible by adults, and understandable by kids. Kevin Hart alone makes “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle,” the perfect movie for a family night; One where kids and adults can enjoy equally. He also share great levels of chemistry with another huge A-list actor, Dwayne Johnson, also know as The Rock.

The Rock and Kevin Hart has played in another movie together titled, Central Intelligence. They developed a chemistry together that surely carried over to “Jumanji.” Dwayne Johnson has a knack for adding action and excitement to his movies. “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle,” was no difference. His character (Spencer the nerd) brings a mixture of adventure as well as humor to this movie in unique ways.

When you have Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart together in a movie and then you add in a sprinkle of Jack Black, you simply have a masterpiece. Jack Black (as Bethany) adds another dimension to this movie. His stellar acting and lightheartedness helps tie in the pace of the movie. There’s many more actors that are worth a mention. You have the beautiful Karen Gillan as Martha, Nick Jonas as Alex, Rhys Darby as Nigel, and many more.

So, what are the critics and customers saying about “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle?”

I’ve been digging around some popular sites and here is what I found.

Imdb a popular movie review site, gave “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle,” a critic review of 7.2 out of 10.

Metacritic a site that averages the reviews of many different movie critic sites, gave “Jumanji,” a 59 out of 100.

Okay, that’s the critics but what are the consumers saying?

imdb.com also has a user score for “Jumanji,” and the users gave it a 7.3 rating out of 10 with 40,000 votes.

Metacritic.com average user score for “Jumanji,” was a 6.6 out of 10 with 149 votes. 96 votes was positive, 35 was mixed, and 18 was negative.

What does the Review Guru think though?

Putting the above data to the side and judging by my opinion alone, “Jumanji,” is a good movie, but a great time. The thing that makes this version of Jumanji great, is it can be enjoyed by all age groups. I believe “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle,” should be an go-to movie for family night, and I encourage all families to spend time together viewing this film. It breaks the barrier between adult and kids comedy, and can be enjoyed for any demographic.

I give “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle,” a solid 4.5 out of 5!

What is “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle,” Venable Verdict Rating?

Venable’s Amazing Book Review of “The Girl on the Train” Complete with it’s VV Rating.

41jw--8FnML._SY344_BO1,204,203,200_The_Girl_On_The_Train_(US_cover_2015)

Not to be confused with the movie adaptation on the left (which was great in itself), this is a review of the novel only.

This is a masterpiece. Written by the New York Times Best Selling author, Ms. Paula Hawkins. Paula Hawkins is a British born author with an amazing writing style. She released a psychological thriller novel titled, “The Girl on the Train” in 2015.

Now, I don’t want to give it all way, but:

The Girl on the Train” is a story written in first-person narrative told from the point of view of three woman: Rachel, Anna, and Megan.

Rachel is the first person the story focuses on. She’s a 32-year-old alcoholic that takes a train every morning and gazes out the window. She fantasizes about the people she sees and the life she should of had. Rachel’s was married to a guy name Tom, but alcohol ended that marriage long ago.

Anna is young, beautiful, and very much in love with Rachel’s ex husband Tom. Anna is also a stay-at-home mom to a young baby girl, everything that Rachel wanted to be. There is conflict between Anna and Rachel because of Tom. Anna sees Rachel as a threat to her family, and demands her to stay away.

Megan is one of the people that Rachel see’s through the window of the train as she commutes. Rachel has never met Megan, but she fantasizes how perfect Megan life must be. To Rachel, Megan is beautiful, very happy, and married to a handsome, devoted man.

Until:

One day Rachel sees Megan kissing a man that is not her husband. This infuriates Rachel: How could a woman that has it all, still cheat?

The next day Rachel wakes up from an alcoholic blackout injured and bloodied. She can’t seem to remember what happened to her the night before. Soon, she learns that one of the top stories is that Megan has gone missing.

Why is Rachel is injured and bloodied?

Who was that man Rachel saw her kissing?

What happened to Megan?

These are only a few of the questions you are left wondering after reading the plot. Paula Hawkins does an excellent job by keeping the questions coming. Every chapter you read just opens up more interesting questions you want answered. “The Girl on the Train” is a masterpiece and deserves to be on the book shelf of every true thriller lover. I would personally rate this book a 5 out of 5.

But:

What is it’s VV Rating?

A Venable Verdict Rating is basically an algorithm that is used to rate an entertainment source fairly, by removing the bias opinion of the reviewer. The highest score I can enter is a 5. That 5 is then added to a very secret and complex formula and a rating is given.

After computing the rating.

The Girl on the Train VV rating is a 4 star stamp of approval!

I recommend picking “The Girl on the Train” up!

You will thank me later.

The best game review of League of Legends (LoL) and it’s Venable Verdict (VV) Rating.

hc6k-custom-198753

League Of Legends is at the pinnacle of the video game industry. It’s been reviewed by every major and non-major review site on the web.

At it’s most simplest form:

League of Legends is a MOBA that is played competitively around the world. Currently there are League servers in Brazil, Europe, Latin America, North America, Australia, Russia, Turkey, Japan, Asia, Korea, and China. There is even talks of expanding LoL to third-world countries.

Yep! Basically every spot on the globe.

Now, you may be wondering:

Whats the buzz all about?

Well, not only does League of Legends own the video game industry, but it also owns the e-sports community.  At it’s core, LoL is the ultimate team game, that people just can’t seem to get enough of. It takes coordination, game knowledge, physical mechanics, and most of all communication, to reach the top of the ladder.

Just last November, LoL finished it’s last e-sports tournament of the year, Worlds. Where 24 teams flew to China, just to have a chance to compete, and become the best team in the world.

So, who won and what did they win? You ask:

The winning team at Worlds (Samsung Galaxy) was awarded 1,855,114.00 dollars. The total amount in prize money awarded at the League of Legend’s World tournament was 4,946,969.00 dollars.

Woah! That’s a ton of money!

Yeah, sure a lot of people play the game, and yes they have big prize rewards, but is the game any good?

Now:

Lets take a look at a couple of the popular review ratings before I reveal League of Legend VV Rating.

GameSpot’s Review:

League of Legends was originally released in 2009. GameSpot didn’t review the game until 2013. They gave LoL a 9 out of 10: Which is a “Superb” rating on their site.

Ign’s Review:

Ign’s review was done in 2014, a year after GameSpot’s review. Ign gave LoL a 9.2 out of 10: Which gives the game an “Amazing” rating on their site.

Okay, the popular sites gave League of Legends a great review, but what Venable Verdict Rating does it get?

Here’s the deal:

After compiling only the most relevant reviews and using my secret, secret, formula. League of Legends VVR is……

What is Venable Verdict Rating (VVR) and how does it differ from a normal review?

467004338

You like to read books right.

Hmm, No time for books: How about a movie?

Wow, you can’t sit still long enough to finish a movie: How about playing a video game?

Okay, look:

Unless your an extreme introvert that lives in an nuclear underground bunker, I’m sure you enjoy at least one of these three forms of entertainment. But, how do you know which book, movie, or video game is worth your precious time.

Most of you screamed at the top of your lungs, a REVIEW!!!

Although that seems like the logical answer, there are a few problems with using a simple review.

For one:

They are totally subjective to the reviewers opinion, and he/she may have ulterior motives. Would you trust a book review that was done by the same author that wrote the book?

For two:

Consumer reviews tend to vary widely from one place to another. This is because on some sites, companies pay people to…..”act as consumers,” and leave a kind review. Same goes for rival companies that pay people to leave an unkind review on a rival’s product.

And for three:

There are a wealth of reviews all across the web. Any popular book, movie, or video game will have anywhere between 100 to 1,000 websites with reviews on them. Even well known gather review sites like Goodreads have a hard time choosing between the wealth of reviews on the web. This leads to a huge variance in the review scores, and not much reliability.

So before you spend your hard-earned cash:

How do you get an honest and accurate opinion about the product?

Dun! Dunn!! Dunnn!!! Here comes Venable’s Verdict Rating to the rescue.

Simply put VVR (Venable’s Verdict Rating) is an algorithm that takes only the most accurate critic review scores and the most accurate customer review scores, and fuse them together to come up with a value.

This number is then added to a secret, secret (so secret I had to say it twice,) formula. The formula consist of many factors which includes a small percentage of Venable’s personal opinion of the product (in number form), the duration of the entertainment, and other numerical factors. This produces a number that is then compared directly to Venable’s one to five star rating template, that includes number thresholds for each level.

One Star is a stamp of disapproval.

Two Stars is a stamp of disappointment.

Three Stars is an empty stamp.

Four Stars is a stamp of approval

And, Five Stars is the ultimate golden stamp of luxury!

The Key difference between any review and VVR, is in the formula used to determine the final rating. VVR is the only review tool on the web that you can trust to give a reliable overview of any book, movie, or video game.

Before you spend your precious money on entertainment purchases. Check to see if the product you are about to buy has a Venable Verdict Rating.

Like this tip? Click here to tweet it.

Look for VVR to branch into other forms of entertainment as well, like music and poetry.

My Top 3 Best Book to Movie Adaptations

Books-to-Movies1.jpg

Many of you may very well already know and some may not, that many motion pictures that we all know and love, was first in the form of a thick and bulky book. Many of us usually have differing opinions on whether the book was better than the movie, or vice versa. You know us humans right, we always need to compare and contrast, and ultimately declare a winner! So, without further ado here’s a list of my top 3 book to movie adaptations, where I believe the book, and the movie, shined equally as bright.

  • The first to top my list is actually one of my favorite movies of all-time, and the book did not disappoint as well. “Along Came a Spider,” is a novel written by James Patterson, and originally published in 1993, when I was a precious three years old. No, I didn’t drool all over the book at that time, but later on in life I got my hands on it. The film was released on April 6, 2001, and starred Morgan Freeman as the detective. Its a wonderful thriller, and if you ever get the time I recommend you give the book a read, and the film a watch. You will not be disappointed I promise, and I do keep my promises, just ask my pinky!
  • The second to make my prestigious list is something that is a little more recent, and stars Ms. Katniss Everdeen. Did you guess, “The Hunger Games?” Yep your right! Give yourself a big pat on the back for district 12. The movies (all 3 of them) was huge box office hits, and Jennifer Lawrence was an amazing lead actress. The first Hunger Games book was published in 2008, by the amazing author, Ms. Suzanne Collins. She followed up with a sequel in 2009 (Catching Fire), and a final book (Mockingjay) in 2010.  The films were released in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 (Mockingjay was split to make two films) respectively. The Hunger Game Series is a total treat, and I recommend you give it a watch.
  • The last but surely not least to make this list is a little something that coined the famous quote, “I’m going to make him an offer he can’t refuse” –Italian accent. “The Godfather,” book was originally published in 1969, by an author that sound like he could of been in the Italian mafia, Mr. Mario Puzo. The book is brilliant, and the films are renounced as some of the best movies of all-time. The book as well as the movies, introduced real-life gangstas, and a criminal underworld to a mainstream audience. You probably have already, BUT if you haven’t read the book or seen the movies, I beg you to go enjoy them.

These are just my personal top 3, book to movie adaptations supported by what I would say is non-debatable evidence. I encourage you to try to come up with a better list than mine. Leave a comment, and Thanks for reading!

So, what are the best books you could read?

Books2.jpgHey, so after a long day at the office, you come home, grab a refreshing cold drink out of the fridge, and take a seat on the couch. You want to just relax for a while, and you think to yourself, ‘hey! reading a book would be great right now,’ but you don’t know what book is worth your valuable time. We all have been in your position before, and there’s so many books on the market it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. Well have no fear, Super Hero Venable is here, to save you!

We as fellow book readers, all have a few things in common, no matter the genre we enjoy . One, we all seek entertainment from reading. Two, we all want the book to be worth the time we commit out of our busy lives to read the book. So, without further to do here’s a few books off of my personal list that will be entertaining, and well worth the time it takes to read them. I will also include a link, where you can purchase the book directly from this blog.

The first book on my list is a novel and a personal favorite of mine. “The Girl on the Train” is a book written by Paula Hawkins, and was originally published January 13, 2015. The book is classified as a thriller, and follows a woman name Rachel, and everything she witnesses from the window of her daily commuter train. It has approximately 395 pages, and is captivating from the first flip. It reached the NY Best Sellers list, and also received the good-reads 2015 choice award. Paula Hawkins definitely created a jewel with this one. You can find it for purchase at Amazon in many forms, just click the link if your interested. The Girl on the Train

The second book on my list is a short story by a world famous author. “Cross Kill,” is a suspense thriller written by James Patterson himself. James Patterson has written more successful thrillers than any other author in history, and he remains on top with this one. “Cross Kill,” is a short story about a detective by the name of Alex Cross, who witnesses a killer, by the name of Gary Soneji, who has been believed to have been dead for ten years, shoot his partner. It has plenty of twist and turns to keep you at the edge of your seat throughout. It was originally published June 7, 2016. There are 113 total pages, which will leave you wanting more. You can also find “Cross Kill,” on Amazon, just by clicking the link. Cross Kill

The last, but surely not least, book on my list is a novel written by an Australian author named, Markus Zusak. “The Book Thief,” is a fiction novel in which death is the narrator. It was originally published in 2005 and has 584 pages. The setting of the book is during World War II in Germany, and it follows plenty of amazing characters. The essence of “The Book Thief,” is an unforgettable story about the ability of books to feed and nourish the soul. Now as a book reader, if that don’t get your motors running, I don’t know what will. Just click the link provided and enjoy an amazing story. The Book Thief

From one reader to another, this is just a few off of my list of best books to read. I’m curious as to what do you think of my taste in books. Write a comment or send me an email about the books you want added to the list or just your thoughts on the list. Thanks for reading and continue expanding your minds with literature.
